Work but no Labor

Everyone has been through it in the last 36 hours. Lynn-nore had a Dr's appointment on Thursday, which led to increasingly painful contractions which led to us dropping Kara off at Lydia's and heading to the hospital. All seemed well until about 10:50pm, at which point her body seemed to be saying "I'm tired" and labor ceased altogether. They gave Lynn-nore a sleeping pill and sent us home. This morning, it was 1pm by the time we had picked Kara up and made further arrangements. The signs suggested that labor was starting up again, and so Lynn-nore and I headed to the hospital. The result, however, was anything but labor. We were bored. We walked the hallways and endured telling our story to 3 different nurses and watching daytime TV and waiting. We made it home again at 6pm, but everyone was tired. Lynn-nore was tired from the on-again-off-again; and Kara from not sleeping a wink at Lydia's house. All in all, lots of work but no labor. The wait resumes....
