Lost & Found

MISSING: One sweet, loving, generally well-behaved blonde two-year-old boy.
FOUND: One strong-willed, smart-mouthed, full-of-himself blonde three-year-old boy!

MISSING: One brown-haired, blue-eyed, soft-spoken, bad-spelling 2nd Grader.
FOUND: One bright-eyed, brown-haired, energetic, smart, school-loving 3rd Grader!

Beggars can't be choosers. While we're working through things with the little munchkin, we're thrilled to death to see Kara excited about school. Yesterday she brought home her Science book to show us and was so excited to learn all about the vocabulary words that she would learn and the topics that she would be studying this first year of science. She has spent some time each evening this week working on her spelling words without too much complaining and they actually seem to be sinking in a little. We're working on that, but it's going well!

Her teacher is an absolute answer to prayer. I had decided a few weeks ago to volunteer to be the room mom and I've been praying that it would be a good partnership this year to help Kara succeed in Third Grade. Those are EXACTLY the words her teacher spoke to me pesonally on orientation day! Praise God! There are 17 kids in her class versus the 25 kids from last year and she is in a portable classroom, so the room seems fresh and new and private. It's a very large room and it's carpeted and the kids will have their own mini-fridge for snacks. Kara was thrilled to write her name in cursive this week and seems to be loving everything about school for the first time since Pre-K.

As for that three-year-old that showed up recently. Well, at least he can poop in the potty now, and someday he'll turn four and snap out this!
